Where it All Began

Born and raised in the tiny island Sri Lanka, or the ‘Paradise Island in the Indian Ocean’ – her fascination for various forms of art, has always led her down life-changing paths.

Her first life-changing artistic encounter, was being selected to represent her motherland at “Nippon Maaru“– The Ship for the World Youth (1998). During this fateful encounter, she became fully aware of how art had the power to bring people together regardless of background, race or ethnicity, and she began to see herself as a “Global Citizen” who represents the world, rather than a single country.

The Exposure

She is a scholarship winner of BA (Hons) Fashion Design and MA in Arts Management, respectively from the LASALLE College of the Arts – Singapore, and the Istituto Marangoni – Florence, Italy. She also holds a Diploma in Clothing Industry Studies from RMIT University – Australia, and credits for a Life drawing workshop at London Atelier of Representational Arts (LARA) – UK, cumulatively contributing in making the artist that she is today.
