Art Bullion offers a series of online Masterclasses that are carefully crafted to give an in-depth idea about a few selected artistic disciplines that aims at developing a set of very interesting and important creative skills in individuals:

THE BEGINNER’S GUIDE TO DESIGN FASHION

FASHION FIGURE DRAWING FOR BEGINNERS

This would be the very 1st stepping stone for those who want to develop skills to become a fashion Designer. This masterclass offers the required training process to understand the human figure and translate that into a fashion figure.

Throughout the program participant is provided with the knowledge and skills through practical exercises and examples. Emphasis would be on understanding the basic dynamics of fashion figure drawing and developing and identifying your own style of fashion figure

Expected learning outcomes

At the completion of the masterclass, students are expected to be able to;

Understand the human figure and adopt the proportions of the body and its components to the required dimensions for sketching a fashion figure
Introducing the anatomical study of the human form in fashionable poses and positions

FASHION SKECTHING AND ILLUSTATION

An interesting short course to develop your illustration skills in the fashion field. The 8 week course explores different approaches in the art of sketching and Illustration, and key elements to Fashion Designing.

The course is designed to train you to how to draw a complete garment ensemble with relevant coloring and sketching techniques. It also teaches you to draw key elements of garment silhouettes and garment details such as collars, pleats, gathers drapes and sleeves etc. which are integral parts of Fashion design.

You will also learn to use different color mediums, experiment with various styles and techniques of drawing which eventually lead you to identify your own unique style of drawing and illustration.

Every single week is a practical lesson to enhance your drawing abilities and the assignments will be critiqued one-to-one by the instructor. Overall it’s a super fun ride for anybody who loves fashion and drawing!

By the completion, not only have you gained confidence and the required training to art of Fashion Illustration, but will also be equipped with the knowledge to develop a quality portfolio that can be presented either to apply for a job or to apply to a university to further study in fashion design.

Expected learning outcomes

At the completion of the masterclass, students are expected to be able to;

Have the ability to colour render fashion figures in rapid sketches and movements
Confidence to try out different colour mediums and come up with a unique style on your own

Week 1 - Introduction to tools and equipment / shading with Graphite or Soft pencils
Week 2 - Fashion poses, basic rendering techniques using soft pencil or Graphite
Week 3 - Introduction to basic Rendering and Shading techniques using different colour mediums
Week 4 - Freehand garment drawings
Week 5 - Fashion stylized head using soft pencil or Graphite
Week 6 - Introduction to garment details
Week 7 - Introduction to garment silhouettes
  • How to draw drapes and different fabric textures using Graphite, Soft pencils or different mediums
Week 8 - Launch of Final assessment – Students own complete garment design illustration

This masterclass is carefully designed for all those who have the passion for creativity and the Arts. Anyone who wants to either pursue a career or even a hobby in the line of designing Textile, Clothing, jewelry, furniture, ceramics, basketry, Graphics or any other artistic craft or even interior designing and Visual Arts can be hugely influenced by learning about the following 4 Art movements: Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Pop Art and the Arts and Crafts movement

Students are given a theory lesson to introduce the movement, its origin, the designers who pioneered the style and the modern day designs influenced by the movement. The following week would be a practical lesson where the student gets to design something with the support of the lecture.

The course aims to help the students to find their own style and navigate the discipline, and to further develop their creativity using their acquired knowledge about these Art movements.
