Nadeesha Abeysekara

Dr. Nadeesha has received her Ph.D. in Management Science and Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), China. She was recipient Honorary international graduates student award - 2019, awarded by HUST, and nominated for the Academic Excellence Award” which is awarded by the Dept. of Production Operations and Logistics Management, School of Management, HUST, China. Before her Ph.D., she has obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Wayamba University, Sri Lanka, and obtained a merit pass. She graduated with a First-class honors Bachelor's degree in Industrial Studies (BIS), specialized in Apparel Production and Management from the Open University, Sri Lanka. Further, she was the recipient of the A.D. Silva memorial Gold Medal which is awarded to the best student in Apparel Production and Management in the Sri Lankan Apparel Sector in the year 2010.

She has Lecturing experience since 2013, first as a Lecturer at the Open University of Sri Lanka, then as a Ph.D. researcher at HUST, and finally Senior Lecturer at the University of Kelaniya. During her tenure, she was able to conduct lectures relating to the fields of Apparel & Textile Technology, Industrial Engineering, Management, industrial mathematics and statistics, Production and Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, New Product Development, and Entrepreneur development, etc. further she has nearly 4 years of industrial experience in the Textile and Apparel sector in different positions (Planning Executive, Merchandiser, and Laboratory Executive) with reputed apparel manufacturers. Currently, she is serving as an industrial Consultant. Her areas of interest in teaching, research, and consulting are Sustainable Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Production and Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, New Product Development, and Entrepreneur development.
